Katerina Reich
Katerina is a Czech jewelry designer based in Prague. She grew up in Nový Svět, a historic district of Prague, where her mother ran a gallery focused on fine art and her father worked as a photographer. From an early age, she was surrounded by artistic creation and a visually inspiring environment.
Her interest in art and design began during her studies at the Václav Hollar Secondary School of Art, where she studied ceramics and developed her sense of spatial perception. She later continued studying ceramics at the Ladislav Sutnar Faculty of Design and Art in Pilsen before eventually moving to the jewelry studio, where she began focusing intensively on the creation of author jewelry.
During her studies, she primarily created futuristic objects and more experimental forms of jewelry. Over time, her work naturally evolved towards more subtle and wearable forms while still maintaining a distinctive authorial signature.
In her current work, she combines precise goldsmith craftsmanship with authorial design, creating contemporary jewelry with an emphasis on originality, form, and detail. She draws inspiration from architecture, art, and nature.
In 2024, her EARTH collection was nominated for the Czech Grand Design Awards in the Jeweler of the Year category. In 2018, her Kyō collection, inspired by Japanese art, received the award for Best Jewelry Collection at the international Designblok exhibition and was subsequently nominated for the Czech Grand Design Awards.
Her work has appeared in publications including the American edition of The Wall Street Journal, the Chinese edition of Harper’s Bazaar, and Cosmopolitan alongside brands such as Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Céline, Giorgio Armani, and Valentino.
Every piece of jewelry begins as an idea, a sketch, a vision.
A model is developed step by step, followed by the final piece, created with precision, patience, and a deep respect for craftsmanship. At certain stages, collaboration with other masters and specialized workshops within the field is essential. Thanks to this process, I am able to offer a piece of jewelry that is flawless in every detail.
